Digital lenders can approve a personal loan in minutes — but only if your documents are ready and consistent. Here's what to keep at hand before you apply.
For everyone: KYC
- PAN card — mandatory for almost every loan
- Aadhaar — for identity and address verification, usually through e-KYC with an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile
- A clear selfie or photograph — many apps capture this live during the application
If your address has changed, keep a recent utility bill, rent agreement or passport handy as address proof.
If you're salaried
- Salary slips for the last 3 months
- Bank statement of your salary account for the last 3–6 months
- Form 16 (sometimes requested for larger amounts)
- Your employee ID or official email may be used to verify employment
If you're self-employed
- Income Tax Returns for the last 1–2 years, with computation of income
- Bank statement of your main account for the last 6 months
- Business proof such as GST registration, Udyam certificate or shop licence
Tips to avoid delays
- Match your details everywhere. Your name and date of birth should be identical on PAN, Aadhaar and your bank account. Small spelling differences are a common cause of rejection.
- Link your Aadhaar to your mobile number. e-KYC and e-sign need an OTP on that number.
- Download statements as PDFs from net banking. Lenders often reject photos or edited files. Many now fetch statements directly with your consent through the Account Aggregator framework.
- Don't apply everywhere at once. Each application can trigger a credit enquiry. Compare first, then apply to the lenders you're most likely to qualify with.
A word on safety
Share documents only inside the lender's official app or website. No genuine lender asks you to pay a fee before disbursal, and no one from CredoCash will ever ask for your OTP, password or card PIN.
